The story

I own a painting company.

When I bought Kevin Turner Painting it was thirty years old, doing under $350,000 a year, with a good name and no system. I'd spent a career in enterprise sales. I assumed marketing a painting company would be the easy part.

It was the part I understood least and paid for most.

We hired agencies. Good ones, by reputation. One ran Google, one ran Meta. Between them we paid more in retainers than we spent on ads. When I finally opened the accounts myself I found seventeen conversion actions all marked primary, a paused campaign reporting 146 leads on $236 of spend, and my own company's name costing me twenty dollars a click. Nobody had looked. Nobody was paid to look.

So I learned it. The auction, the signal, the funnel, the math. And what I found was that the thing that moved revenue was never more leads. It was answering the phone on a Saturday. It was the close rate. It was the size of the job.

Rule & Co. is the marketing company I couldn't hire.

We start with the revenue you need and work the problem backwards — brand, sales, process, then the funnel, then the traffic. We publish our pricing because nobody else in this trade does. We take one painting company per market, because two of you running the same playbook helps neither. And the marketing is built as a system, documented, so it keeps working when we're not in the room.

The name is mine. A rule is also what you measure with. Facts over feelings. Discipline over motivation.
